Help settle our debate

K has been begging me to cut her hair short for several weeks now. She hasn't cut her hair since May so she thinks she's way over due. Matt and I love her hair long and have been trying to stall another haircut, but she won't stop pestering us about it. A few minutes ago she came downstairs (where I was making skirt patterns for the little girls) wielding scissors and asking again if I'd cut her hair. She wants an angled chin-length bob in the front with the back cut in short, spiky layers so she can make it "funky". She almost never wears it down and was surprised to see how long it 's gotten when she saw these pictures. Anyway, we all decided to bring it to the rest of you and ask for your votes for or against K cutting her hair. (This really isn't that big of a deal, but we thought it would be fun to involve the rest of you in our ongoing debate.) So...what do you think? Should she grow it or cut it? And no fair giving a cop-out answer like "It's K's hair, she should do whatever she wants."

I'm the owner of the head, and it's my hair, so i think that my opinion is the most important one and i say cut it off!!!!

what's the Bible say about a house divided again?!?!

'Mr.W' says 'cut it - you'll look 16!'

And 'usedtobebestbuddy' said, 'yes indeed - cut it!'

(btw...she said 'will you take a picture of me to send to her?" [new Christmas stuff, you know]...to which 'Mr.W' said 'ooh, ooh, and can you take a picture of me to send to George?!?!' I'm surrounded by dorks!!)

And I'm jealous that I'm NOT surrounded by your dorks!!

So, she wants to look like Katie Holms? Then she will want to act like her. Both are GIANT negatives. I say, "Shave the head and send her to a convent the next ten years." At least shave the head.

OK -- so I'm old and maybe considered old-fashioned as well. I was about Katie's age when I had my hair cut short from longer than hers. It was freeing and way more becoming. I've pretty much worn it short ever since. Make it easy is my motto. And hair grows so if this is a mistake, it will soon correct itself. You could have way bigger issues with a girl her age than the length of her hair so give in already!! (Of course, she could take the scissors to it herself; and then everyone might suffer.) I say cut it. But on the other hand, it is Katie's hair and she can do whatever she wants to do with it! But thanks for the updated picture. Katie, you look amazing! You are so pretty, and it looks like you're getting tall, too. I think short hair would look really cute on you.

And by the way, I had no idea there were 2 Aunt Mel's. I'm not sure how I feel about that! :)

Grandma Bean says "Cut it"! I say have fun and try something new. Grandpa Bean used to ask "Do you know the difference between a good hair cut and a bad one.....about six weeks!" You'll look great no matter what you do! Love you!

Katie say's "THANK YOU!!!" to all of you who voted for the hair cut, and Matt says "Who ASKED YOU??!" Not that he'd ever consider being a poor sport over losing this debate!

Looks like my friend Julie and I will be doing something fun with Katie's hair. We'll post pictures and let you all see how it goes. If all else fails she has a nicely shaped head...
